Deciding on whether or not to do a private first look.. it can be a decision that is hard to make because you simply don’t know which one is right for you. I am going to give you an easy way to make this decision.

Which one is right for us?

To truly make the best decision for you and your spouse we need to look at the reasoning behind why others have chosen to make this special moment private. Most couples choose to do a private first look because it allows them to open up their emotions fully without the the stress of peers watching. Others choose to simply for the 20 minutes of alone time they get before the ceremony.

I have seen many others who have chosen to not do one; because they want their families to be apart of that special moment. Some couples are more outspoken than others and that is completely okay!

As a photographer, what do you recommend?

As a photographer who has photographed plenty of first looks, I always recommend whatever suits the couple and their personalities. At the end of the day you want images that convey you and your true emotions which means choosing something that you are comfortable in without holding back.
